Board Sales FAQ

I sell boards as a service to the DIY community. As I already have a full-time job, an energetic kelpie and many other responsibilities I ask that you please read the following FAQ before asking any questions about board sales.

Question: Do you have boards in stock?

Answer: If the Board Sales page says the boards you want are in stock above the prices for the boards you are interested in the boards are in stock. The page is updated regularly to reflect current availability and prices. If the board you want isn't on the board sales page, I don't have it.

Q: Do you sell boards for other projects like the G9, SSL etc?

A: While my original improved 1176 printed circuit design is based upon Jakob's G1176, the board is unique and was designed by myself. I do not sell boards designed by others. The boards shown in the board sales page are the only boards I provide.

Q: How much for shipping to ________? How long does shipping take to ________? Can you send boards via courier or express?

A: International via Regular Airmail and domestic shipping for board sets is included in the prices listed. There is no tracking number provided for regular airmail or domestic mail service.

Shipping times vary widely even for the same location. Delivery times are mostly dependent on your local postal service. If you want an idea of how long it would take to reach your locale, search the thread for someone in your area who posted when they ordered and when they received. Australia post quotes 3 to 10 working days but this is seldom achieved in practice as it is impossible to control or predict what happens when the parcel arrives at your domestic mail service destination. Customs screening sometimes adds days or weeks to the delivery time. Parcels sent to Italy can sometimes take up to three MONTHS.

Orders of three or more board sets may ship in separate packages. Packages sent simultaneously may arrive at different times due to the mysteries of the postal system.

Due to the additional cost (over $50 even for a single PCB), paperwork and time required, I cannot send orders registered, by express mail or courier.

Q: Do you accept bank transfers? Western Union?

A: Sorry, but I only accept Paypal.

Q: Can you send me a Paypal invoice?

A: Sorry, no - please add items to your cart and pay the total calculated through Paypal.

Q: Where can I find _____ for my project?

A: Please do a search to find parts either locally or internationally for your project. I cannot assist you individually to find parts to make your compressor. I do not stock any parts that you can use to build your compressor.

Q: How much does it cost to build an 1176?

A: Costs of parts will, of course, vary from country to country and depend on what options you choose for your particular build. If your primary concern or reason for attempting to DIY is cost, you should consider buying a finished commercial product. Unless your time is worthless, DIY is a poor way to save money!

Q: I've built my 1176 and I'm having a problem. Where should I check first?
Q: Which capacitors should I use for my clone?
Q: Which parts do I include and which ones do I leave out when using the input transformer?
Q: Do you have a schematic for...?
Q: Can you send me your front panel file?

A: Sorry, but the prices above are for boards only and does not include technical or any other support. Please do a search of The Lab or if you are sure you have a unique question just post your question at The Lab. I cannot help you on an individual basis to build your project. Please do not email or PM me with questions about the 1176 project itself - I do not have the time to answer and your email will go unanswered. Most of your questions can be answered by reading my 1176 pages, doing a search of The Lab or looking at the 1176 Meta.

Q: I have been waiting to be registered with the Prodigy-Pro forum but want to order your boards. How can I order?

A: It is not necessary to be registered to the Prodigy-Pro forum to order boards from me. Just add the PCBs you want to your cart and checkout.

Q: How much are the boards in (my local currency)?

A: Please make your payment in US Dollars. Paypal will make the conversion from your currency when you add items from the board sales page to your cart.

Thanks to all at the Group DIY forums for your continued help and support!
